With Halloween now firmly behind us it is time to say goodbye to Autumn and welcome in Winter. Thanksgiving and Christmas are just around the corner. There is a chill in the air and the magic of the season is starting to show.
And with the winter we start to see the return of winter fashion! Gone are the days of shorts, breezy dresses, and beach attire. Replaced with the ever so comforting wooly jumpers and fluffy coats. Winter is my favorite season. Both because of Christmas and because I simply adore winter fashion! It is when I can put together my most creative looks.
Dressing for winter is often more of a challenge. But, if done right, you can easily make every outfit you wear this season one that is sure to turn heads. Today we are going to be looking at the must-have winter accessories. These will help you complete your winter wardrobe.
Hat Season
While summer does boast its fair share of amazing hats, winter is when hats really get their time to shine! The ultimate blending of style and functionality, winter hats are the perfect way to top off any outfit while also keeping yourself warm during the cold months ahead.
This season we are seeing beanies come back into fashion. Spurred on by the increasing popularity of UK based influencers. The beanie is a timeless look that pairs well with a puffy jacket and ski trousers look. The colors that are in this season seem to be darker greens and lighter browns. But, as always, you should try to match your beanie to the color palette of your outfit!
A Stylish Leather Bag
Leather bags are making a comeback in a huge way! Fashion minimalism is slowly dying off. And with it we are binning off our tiny little clutches and replacing them with elegant leather bags. Robust enough to handle all our Christmas shopping needs and stylish enough to pair with almost any outfit.
I’ve been very impressed by the collections of leather bags by Anuent and Frank Clegg. Both companies are offering a diverse selection of styles. Each style comes in a variety of colors, ensuring that you can easily find the right bag to match your wardrobe.
A Stylish Scarf
Scarves are my all time favorite accessory. And I am a firm believer that they aren’t just for the winter season either. But the selection of summer scarves is considerably less substantial. Winter is the season where scarves really come into their element.
This season we are seeing the thin, long style of scarf win out over the more fluffy variants. Whites, grays, and blacks are the vogue color choice of this year. I am partial to a split pattern scarf with a mixture of white and charcoal gray. When paired with a long, sleek winter coat and a stylish quarter-zip jumper. This is a timeless look that is suitable for every winter occasion.
But just because thinner scarves are the most fashionable right now, that doesn’t mean you can’t opt for a long fluffy one! We have seen a number of elegant fluffy scarves hitting the runways at many of the autumn fashion shows this year. Faux fur is the perfect choice and it pairs well with a fur-lined winter coat and fluffy winter boots.
Earmuffs
Yes you read that right! Earmuffs are back! If you ask me they never should have left. With Arianna Grande pushing herself back into the spotlight with her starring role in the upcoming ‘Wicked’ movie, people are keen to emulate her signature winter look. And the defining part of that look is her fluffy earmuffs!
The prevailing trend for earmuffs this season seems to be bright colors. Reds, pinks, whites, blues. Anything that adds a bit of vibrancy to this dark time of year. The fluffier the better if you want to really go for that superstar look!
Mittens
Gloves are a staple of any winter outfit. But this year we are seeing mittens take center stage. The cuter, warmer, and more visually appealing cousin of the traditional glove. Mittens are a great way to pull together a cute winter look.
When it comes to mittens you want to avoid going for black, brown, or gray. The brighter colors are always preferable. If you are opting for the earmuff look this season then you should consider getting some matching fluffy mittens to really complete the look. They also pair well with a fluffy scarf and fur lined coats.
